Sharing what i buy on facebook/twitter

Rewardzone accounts should allow me to connect to facebook and share what i purchase and my RZ lifetime points earning. As customers complete things like home networks, home theater systems, new kitchen appliances they would get badges and bonus RZ points. You could even link it to a facebook app that would show my home with all the products i purchased and even what i'd like to purchase. It could show a digital library of all the movies i own, CDs i've purchased or Games that i have.

Mobile Checkout App

The Best Buy Mobile Apps should allow customers to purchase products well they are in the store and take then home. Stores can be ID'd by GPS locations and on phones like the Android they can use the barcode scanner to add items to the customers shopping cart. When the customer is done shopping the can pay on the App with their stored credit card information. The Loss Prevention employee at the door could lookup the receipt at his/her PC to validate it on the way out.

Customer Solutions solver engine

Best Buy should build a Customer Solution decision engine. The decision engine would be an ever growing database/matrix built by customer needs and matching solutions leveraging a Blue Shirt rating/review/submission process. This engine could be likened to Netflix’s or Tivo’s recommendation engine. <br/>e.g., A Blue shirt would enter a customer need statement as dictated by the customer into the engine. The decision engine would provide a solution based on what other Blue Shirts have recommended tied to trigger words/statements. After review between the customer/Blue Shirt the decision engine would then learn additional recommendations/changes that the Blue Shirt would have as well as the customer’s response (purchase all, part none why and why not) as well as link them with new trigger words/statements in the customers need. <br/>By allowing each individual employee to leverage every Blue Shirt in the company at the time they would be able to provide each customer with the unique solutions based on the customers individual needs in a way no other organization could do.<br/>Additional the solutions engine would drive additional value for BestBuy.com by providing internet customers with the knowledge of Best Buy Blue Shirts.

New Employee Communcation Tools (Social Networking)

Best Buy should take the leap and be the first company to leverage Twitter/Facebook to communicate with its employee's. This would allow employee's to get the information that they need in the same way they receive all of the other news/status updates that they do today. Additionally leveraging existing tools such as Twitter/Facebook would save Best Buy investment capital that would otherwise be invested in proprietary systems that become irrelevant over time.

Create an transparant store operating model for the customers

Allow for customers to view all Best Buy SOP, sales strategies, weekend trainings, Drive time events and other customer facing material exactly the way employee's see it. Providing customers with a way to comment, rate, suggest and change (kind of like a best buy Wikipedia) how best buy operates. This would allow best buy to continue to provide the best customer service that is driven by both its employee's as well as the customers and communities that are surrounding the stores.

        I'd like to be able to use the app in store to process my own checkout well i'm shopping. It would also be great if i could use it to add items to a wish list.

        it would also be great if the app had the find product by photo option.

        It would be great if Best Buy could get "live functional" demos of all the phones even if it was just an interactive flash demo website of the interface.

        Even in the carrier stores you still do not get to see how the phone works live. right now the best experience I've seen demoing a phone is the http://www.Google.com/phone site with the flash demo.

      <text>
        My only change would be to use Google's Chrome OS. Well android is a great mobile OS for phones it is limited by its web browser and the its apps ability to function across different platforms.

        Chrome would provide a more cloud based solution that seems to be a better fit for the uses of a tablet platform. Most if not all of the applications that a consumer/employee would use on a tablet are now available in a cloud based form including many with offline support when internet access is not available.

        Add to that the default ability for websites to adapt to different resolutions within the screen resolution range of a table. Removing the requirement for developers to have to rebuild their services for yet another platform would make it a win across all aspects.

      <text>I station would be for people who are in a store but would like to rent a movie on a portable video player. To the best of my knowledge Redbox only allows for "Disk" rental which does not help me and my netbook or other portable digital video player when i'm on a trip with no internet access.</text>
