The reviews are hardly ever relevant. We should be able to rely on the customer reviews for additional product specifications and insights.

Disagree totally. Having reviews on pre-order items informs the customer of how good an item is so the cusomer can make up their mind to buy or not. Reviews on pre-order CDs for example are quite legit as the album typically leaks online or is reviewed by the press long before it hits shelves so why not get the input of those who already know?

Most of the people that review these items don't know though.
