Some people don't have a computer readily available yet have and Ipod or similar device. Or buying online and installing is an inconvenience. Instead of passing on a full priced CD and leaving, a customer can walk out having purchased a few songs for about $1 each. Or buying, say a Napster card, and using it instantly.

The only problem with that is that not everyone would log out of their account. Your personal information might be left up for the next guy to take your music and possibly charge more to your account. It just doesn't make sense.
