Posted 14 days ago in response to Quit printing all those paper fact tags

You want electronic tags? Get ready for prices to go up! Paper tags are used because they are simple, not "green". It is also easier for employees to shift tags around when products are put on display elsewhere.

Um, with all of those specs. You are looking at a 3,000$ laptop. Not 1000... Wait 5 years and we'll see.

Posted 14 days ago in response to Start carrying more desktop quad core computers

Well this is where you are close minded. For the average individual looking for a desktop computer, as a main home computer, a quad core processor is great yet usually raises the price. Most stores have limited space for desktop displays so we have to offer both low and high end models for every customer. However, you make a valid point. I would love to see, at least a small section, of pure gaming computers with advanced graphics cards and the ability to upgrade RAM and/or Graphic cards the same day through geek squad. Many stores have an install bay for car audio, where a customer can select exactly what he or she wants in their car. Why not do this for computers, for all levels!

Posted 15 days ago in response to Serious work needed on customer service

I agree...recently purchased an item for in store pickup. When we arrived, the wrong item had been picked. We ordered a bluray and they had picked a standard DVD.

Also recently, I called customer service to determine if a bluray movie available on-line also came with dvd combo and digital copy. The rep said "pretty much every bluray we sell comes with digital copy". I shop at Best Buy quite a bit, and I don't think that statement is true. A rep should only answer if they are sure, not guess.

Posted 15 days ago in response to Get rid of those stupid plastic boxes that are way too hard to open

The packaging that is difficult to open, even with heavy duty snipping scissors, has got to go. It is responsible for many emergency room visits...not to mention how horrible it is for the environment....think of all that unrecycled plastic cluttering our planet. Best Buy can make a difference by influencing how items are packaged for display.

i'm sure the information is stored on the system. The paper is just a copy for the customer.

If a child "must" have a cell phone just get them a fire fly

http://www.fireflymobile.com/

But I really think parents should be parents and not let their young children go off by themselves. Child Preditors are just waiting to snatch a kid

Posted 16 days ago in response to Access Toolkit From HOME...at least TLC

I used to work at applebee's and currently starting at best buy - Again (Different state, woohoo!) - when I left the Applebees back home they were starting where they would post your schedule on a secure site, you couldn't clock in or anything from it, but you could view your schedule and send it straight to your outlook calendar, or android, or iphone (which didn't apply to us in ND) - but something like that would be awesome - and if the schedule got changed it would send you a text with the updated shift, and it would text you when your schedule got posted (and it would send a reply text as soon as you checked your updated shift so your managers would know you looked and can't lie about it)....its kinda funny, a restaurant has that technology but a technology retail store doesn't. I kind of got accustomed to it...I think BBY needs to look into that, as it would be paperless and "green", instead of having workers print off their schedules from TLC and waste 2 sheets of paper....just saying...like our best buy - close to 200 employees - thats 400 sheets of paper a week from them printing their schedules - that is if they only print off one and don't need two (like if they have separated parents) - So on average - Saving 1600 sheets of paper a MONTH!...

So Desktop replacement could be an option.

Of course there can be a [age that describes what a "desktop repalcement" what a "netbook" etc is in plain english.

I agree with Chris. 10 year olds don't need a cell phone. If anything, tell them to wear Life Alert around their neck if there's an issue.

Cost would be Value for Price, which is already an option. The only issue with battery life and video performance (especially video performance) is that not everybody has an issue with those. Some people don't need all the video and some people don't need extra battery life if their laptop is supposed to be a desktop replacement.

I dont think a 10 year old should even have a cell phone. Once the kid has a job and becomes responsible THATS when he should get a cell.

and Plus I don't see many kids with that much money.

Posted 18 days ago in response to Enhance "Store Pickup" online feature to "Store Availability"

There are people who like to feel the product first, look at, see what are the bell ans whistles. That is true to home theater stuff and computers. In computers people(those that are a little more then a basic computer user) like check how fast the computer is what the memory(RAM), hard drive space, what chip is it using and so on before buying it.

For me I like to check on the DVD cover art and slip case a little like a comic book collector, to make sure it is not to high up where the security sticker can mess it up. That is when thaking that off, I had problem before buying DVDs at some other stores. Where the DVD cover art is a little too high, and taking off the security sticker will screw it a little.
